Summary

In this episode, I’m building on last week’s tarot reading and exploring a deeper layer of what it means to step out of hiding. While the raccoon card often speaks to creativity and artistic expression, I felt called to focus on another aspect of that message, the intuitive gifts we carry and the ways we sometimes keep them hidden.

I share more about my own journey with intuition and how that connection has evolved over time. While I’ve always been sensitive and tuned in, it took years of exploration, practice, and openness to fully acknowledge and trust that inner wisdom. Tools like tarot became a bridge, helping me understand how that connection speaks and how to receive it more clearly.

In this episode, I walk through some of the ways our inner wisdom communicates with us. For some, it shows up through visuals, like images or scenes unfolding. For others, it comes through words, whether that’s an inner voice or through writing and journaling. And for many, it’s felt through the body, in subtle sensations, emotions, or physical signals that guide and affirm what is true.

I also reflect on how important it is to build a relationship with your own intuition before trying to share it outwardly. Strengthening that connection creates a sense of trust and grounding, which makes it easier to step forward and express what you are receiving in a way that feels aligned and authentic.

This episode is an invitation to gently explore your own intuitive gifts, whatever form they may take. You don’t have to rush or have all the answers. It can begin with curiosity, with openness, and with allowing yourself to acknowledge that this part of you exists.

  • Welcome to The Shoreline, where we explore the tender in-between seasons of the human experience. My name is Kim, and I'm here to support you as you navigate your next becoming. Here, we don't fix, we listen. We don't rush, we allow. Hello, and welcome to today's episode. I hope you enjoyed last week's tarot reading. If you haven't had a chance to listen to that yet, I would recommend going back and listening to the last episode where I do a tarot reading and just talk about some of the themes that might be popping up for you in April. I've been really loving sharing these tarot readings with you, and last week's in particular really just got me thinking, and that's kind of what I want to talk about today. So the overall theme and card that I drew for the month was the Raccoon card, and I've always thought of this card in terms of being an artist, being a creative, and what it means to share your work with the world. And that is such a beautiful side of that card, and it really encourages you to create something that is meaningful and share it with the world. That card talks a lot about wearing a mask and being in hiding, and I think that's really something that is applicable to being an artist and being a creative. But there's another side to it. And I think that often we wear a mask and are kind of in hiding when we have intuitive gifts. And that's what I want to focus on today, because I feel like now more than ever, the world needs us to share our gifts and to really step into being an intuitive. And if you're listening to this, I would guess that you are like me and you have wisdom and intuitive gifts to share with the world. And it's something that really is special. There was a time in my life where I really rejected that side of myself. And so this connection and these gifts and the inner wisdom that I hold, it's always been there, but it was almost like it was dormant, or the voice was so quiet, it was like barely a whisper, because I simply wasn't open to receiving it. And I really am just so grateful for Tarot, because it opened me up to be able to reconnect and receive that wisdom. I started doing Tarot back in 2017. And if you're interested in learning more about that experience, you can go back to the episode called Where Magic Meets the In-Between, and I talk about how my Tarot journey began. And it wasn't until three years after that that I really had what I think was like one of my big spiritual awakenings. I would say that I've always been someone who is tuned in. I'm a very sensitive human. And I grew up in a family where my mom was also very connected. She's very tuned in. And she normalized that. She normalized, you know, talking to loved ones who passed. She would point out aligned numbers. And so it was always kind of there and present. But I would say I was still very apprehensive and very timid. And I wanted to lean into kind of the practical side of being human and the mundane aspects. But this connection was always there. And it wasn't until 2020 when I did my Intervoice Facilitator training and I had kind of this major spiritual awakening that I really allowed myself to even explore these possibilities. And, you know, learning tarot was a big part of opening that door. Even now, I think tarot is so much more popular and more accepted in kind of like mainstream existence. And I think that's part of why it's a really great way to either open that door or strengthen your connection. It's a tool that I used in the beginning to really, to really understand how my guides and how my inner wisdom kind of reached out to me. And what that felt like and what it was kind of saying. I think it can be really challenging at first to understand how our inner wisdom, how spirit, how the universe really speaks to us. It's like learning a language, right? Like you may start to see aligned numbers, and that's great. You bring your awareness to it, but then it's understanding like, okay, what do those numbers mean? And then how do they apply to me? And what are my guides trying to say with these aligned numbers? There are many layers to it. And I think that having something tactile, like cards, can be really grounding and really affirming. As I went through my inner voice facilitator training, part of that program was to do a lot of inner voice sessions. So talking to other people's intuition in a question-answer format, and then also connecting to my own intuition through those sessions and having someone else communicate with them. And it was through this learning and through these sessions that I started to understand that there are a few main ways that our inner wisdom kind of speaks to us, right? I actually created a quiz about how you can figure out the way that your inner wisdom connects and speaks to you. And so if you're interested in that, you can go to my website. It's under the free section, and you'll find that quiz there. And what I learned is that there are these three kind of main ways that inner wisdom speaks to us kind of through our physical being. The first one is through visuals. So I remember having sessions with people who held this gift, and it was really interesting because in those sessions, it was like they were watching a movie and describing to me what was happening. And so their inner wisdom would kind of show them through visuals, sometimes movie style, sometimes like a series of images. And they would describe those to me, and then we could kind of ask their inner wisdom, like, what did you mean by this? Or like, what are you trying to show? And that was something that was so fascinating to me because it's not a gift that I hold, but it was just super cool to kind of see that unfolding and see people kind of watching a movie with their eyes closed and being able to describe it. So seeing visuals is the first way that your inner wisdom can connect to you. The next one is through words or a voice. And I think this is more common, and this is one that we kind of focused on in our training. And it really lends itself well to kind of that traditional inner voice session where a facilitator is helping you kind of connect in, and then they will talk to your inner wisdom directly and ask questions and get answers. And so you'll hear that if you're just on your own and you're not necessarily in like a proper session, you might hear a voice and maybe it starts out just one word or maybe two words. For me, if I'm not feeling like I want to be super connected, but my inner wisdom has something it really wants to say, I'll just kind of hear the same word over and over. You can also connect through journaling. So like writing down your question and then just writing and seeing what answer emerges. So yeah, through words, you can either connect through using your voice and kind of having a conversation, whether it be out loud or in your head or journal style, like writing down questions and answers. And I think that specifically the journaling can be really helpful because if you can get into a flow and you're just writing question, answer, question, answer, you might not even really know what's being said. And then you can go back and read it and be like, oh my gosh, like, I don't remember writing that, but this is really great wisdom or, oh yes, I want to like kind of reflect back. And so it's a really great way to end up with something tangible that you can go back to. And then the third way that your inner wisdom can connect to you is through body sensations. So if you think about like if you've ever talked to someone and then all of a sudden you start to feel like those tingles on your skin, that is a way that your inner wisdom is communicating with you and kind of giving you a confirmation of something. And this one, I feel like is a little bit less straightforward because you don't necessarily get that exactly what is trying to be said. You're just kind of getting like that confirmation of presence. And over time, you'll kind of learn the language of your own inner wisdom, and maybe you'll know that like, oh, when I feel tingles, it means this. Or for me, sometimes my inner wisdom will give me like the feeling of like tears welling up in my eyes, even though there are no tears present. And that's how I know like I'm on the right track, or I'm getting like a yes, or I'm talking about something that's like really important. So you'll kind of get to know the different ways that your inner wisdom is reaching out to you through different like sensations. I think this one is a really great one. If you are super sensitive and you're a deep feeler, you'll kind of get those, those emotions or that sense kind of coming up. What's really cool is that all of these are available to us. We all have the capacity to receive, but usually your inner wisdom kind of has one to two that they lean on, and those kind of become your, your main forms of connection. I think that opening the lines of communication and really strengthening that bond and that connection you have to your own inner wisdom is a super important first step, because I think if you're on kind of shaky ground, then it might be harder to, to trust in what you're hearing and then to share what you're experiencing. So I think it is important to really spend time kind of fostering that connection and that relationship. And then once you have that foundation from there, there, the world is, is so vast. There's so many different modalities and things to explore and you find what resonates with you. I think what's really beautiful is that we're, we're not all meant to do everything. We all have, you know, these gifts and we're all going to be drawn to two different things. And that's kind of the fun is that you get to find your flavor and then share it through your own unique perspective. And it will be different from someone else's, you know, like a session with you might feel completely different from a session with me, even though we might be offering the same thing. Or, you know, in astrology, all astrologers, you know, have their own unique perspective and their own unique flavor because they are interpreting the information they're receiving in a different way. And that's what's so cool about this is that there is space for everyone to share their intuitive gifts. And I think that it, you know, I said this before, but it's more important now than it ever has been. I think that we're going through a lot of change and a lot of growth as a collective. And I've been feeling this pull for a while now of really removing the mask and just allowing myself to exist as I am and to share that I do, you know, I have this connection and it's really important to me. And I want to continue strengthening it. And I want to share the wisdom that I receive. And I want to continue to explore and grow. And it's time to kind of step out of the shadows and step out of hiding and really let, let that part be the leader and be the guide. And so I wonder if there's, you know, part of you that you've been holding back or maybe you are in a period where you haven't felt comfortable exploring your intuitive gifts or that connection to spirit or your guides or your inner wisdom or whatever it is. And maybe for whatever reason, you're feeling called to step into that now. And I just want to acknowledge that it can be scary to even call that into existence. And you're not alone. You're not alone here. And you get to take your time and decide what feels right. And maybe it's just acknowledging to yourself out loud for the first time that you have this curiosity or you have that intuitive connection. Or maybe you open yourself up and you get to meet your guides. Or maybe it's sharing it with a friend or someone really close to you in life. Or maybe it's taking that first step forward and, you know, finding a mentor or someone who can help you kind of cultivate your connection and help you strengthen your gifts. Wherever you're at, I just want to invite you to kind of look into and sense into what might be next for you in this arena because your wisdom and your gifts are just that. They're so special and so unique and really a gift that you can offer to the world and to yourself. And, you know, I think that it would be so special if you shared them. And so I wonder what it could look like for all of us to kind of step out of the shadows and step out of hiding and into the light together, and how that might shift the world that we see today, and how we might be able to bring more light and wisdom to our world because it's just so needed right now. And again, I want you to know that you're not alone. It was nine years ago that I started doing tarot, and then six years ago that I started my Intervoice Facilitator training. And it's only now that I really am stepping into calling myself an intuitive guide. And even that feels scary. So, you know, it's just one step at a time and really allowing yourself to be where you're at and also grow. And so if you've been feeling like you're stuck and you're not sure what's next, like you're somewhere in between who you once were and who you want to become, I want you to know you don't have to figure it out alone. I would love to chat with you and learn more about you and your story and your next unfolding. If you're interested in chatting with me, you can schedule time with me on my website or there's a link in my show notes. And so that's what I have for you today. I hope that you take good care while the waves carry you closer and know that your next version is already waiting on the shore.
